Slow Guy on the Fast Ride!

Lessons in cutting through fog

I know it's been awhile. And like all the best letters that arrive after a long silence, I have much to share with you.

First off, yes, it's true that I've parted ways with VeloNews after nearly six years. I don't know what comes next, but you'll be the first to know, of course. I feel so proud and honored to have been the tech editor for so long, and I have nothing but love and respect for the team I'm leaving behind.

If you can, please do support them by becoming an Active Pass member. The VN team works incredibly hard to bring us all the best bicycle writing in the industry, and that Active Pass membership will help them keep doing exactly that for years to come.

Unfortunately, I don't have a personal Active Pass to sell you! I imagine I'll be freelancing for a while, so please, please, please, spread the word about my website, dancavallari.com, where I'll be far more active in the coming months.

And of course, I’ll still be dorking out about whiskey over at The Practical Still.

I am so humbled by all the people who have reached out with kind words. I don't know what comes next, but I know it will be an adventure, and I'm looking forward to bringing you all along with me.

In the mean time, I’m going to take a week or two to cut through the mental fog and figure out where I belong in this world. I’ll let you know where I end up on the other side.
